If you missed the IxD13 Education Summit, I put together a recap of the ideas that came out of it. Lots of good fodder here for how IxDA could help improve design education, get it into schools earlier, etc etc etc.... Read the blog post.

Looking for a Mobile App UX/UI designer in South Florida to speak to my class.

Hello,

I am teaching a mobile app graphic design class at Florida Atlantic University this semester. We would love to have someone with mobile app design experience come and talk to us about the design process, careers, and the mobile app industry. I am not sure we have any sort of budget for this yet, therefore I am reaching out to those already living/working in South Florida to volunteer to spend and evening with our class.

Please let me know if you are interested, or if you know someone that might be. Thank you!

IxD/ Human Centered Design Curricula and Philosophy

I am currently dealing with the question what students should be taught in in Interaction Design/ Human Centered Design and how the teaching should be done. For that reason I am in search for curricula and the philosophy behind them. Do you know of any resources?

For HCI there is e.g. the suggestion by the SIGCHI, which provides an extensive overview, but I could not find something like this for a design course.
