My name is Wei. I am working as a PhD researcher at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The aim of this blog is to create an information storage, to share my ongoing work, and to encourage discussions for Generation Y Interactions. Now, let's start our interactions :-)

I am designing a portal that allows the user to add mutiple widgets/modules to their personalized dashboard. I've done extensive user research, but I am unsure if the widgets/modules should be pre-populated with data. The argument against this is the widgets/modules are highly customizable to the point where it is hard to predict what a particular user type needs in each widget/module.
I'm Studying master of interaction design and I will graduate from Malmo university, Sweden in June/July 2011 and I'm looking for PhD in the US.I'm looking for PhD position in interaction design with focus on New media.
what do you think about interaction design / technology embedded in everyday objects? Touchscreens in tables, pillows, walls.
I believe that for a technology to be adapted by larger masses you first need to go the way of integrating it into something that people already know and are confortable with - in a way that you don't disturb the usage of the (host) object itself.
