All through my career, as a Graphic Designer I never explored anything other than graphic and print design. Now, I am interested and want to expand my skill set. I have no coding knowledge, but can understand HTML and css codings. I am not good with coding and at this point in my career, I dont want to get into it. I am interested to learn more about IX, UX and UI design. Wherever I search, I am not able to find any standard description or defined career path for UX, IX / UI designer.
Sorry to write another one of these beginner's advice threads: I know there are a lot of them and I have read a lot of them. I would still like to try to get some advice pertaining to my specific situation, if that's all right.
Hi all. I am a graphic designer/
designer-still-in-training. I received my bachelor's degree in
Graphic Design, minoring in multimedia design. In school I learned
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Indesign, all
of which I still use frequently. I also learned some 3D modeling and
texturing through Maya. Since graduating I have done some
freelancing, mainly web graphics and logos.
This website is pretty great! I have recently become very interested in interactive design. I am interested in the way people use technology and the internet.
I am studying Information Science and Technology in school, and that's about as close a degree as I could get. There is a Graphic Design program, but that is more on the actual Photoshop use etc, and would have taken me too long to complete anyways.
Hi there, apologies if all this seems utterly trivial to most of you, but I am new to this world and need some guidance. I am trying to get the basic concepts underlying interaction design - any ideas on sources?
I got "Interaction Design: beyond Human-Computer Interaction" by Dr. Helen Sharp, would this be a good start?
Basically i am a visual designer working in a small team. We do detailed
prototype design on Inkjet printers using flash. Its basically to give a
complete understanding of the work flow like copy, print, scan etc for user
research and testing. In these recent days, my personal interest lies in
interaction designing and supporting that my boss wants me to take up some
task flows as exercize to start off. But i do not acquire any sort of
training or experience in Interaction design.
