I'm designing a stream/list of content that I want to allow the user to "tune" through a series of parameters: some might be boolean (toggle), some might be a place on a continuum (slider). Has anyone seen a good example of a stream or list view where the amount or type of content in the stream can be altered using something other than the obvious dropdown menu or tab options?
As a favour, I've been asked for my opinion and possible solution for a usability problem.
Imagine a website that gives a calendar grid of prices for each day and you can view a month at a time.
To change the month, there is a horizontal slider above the calendar grid, but when I watched someone use the page they commented that they wanted to change to a later month but missed the slider completely.
