Hi Jim,

What is QE, exactly?

But I have another question: what is the ideal kind of interaction design
spec to receive, speaking from a QE/development/testing perspective?

Has both touch screen and tactile inputs. Although it's a tad pricey. Anyone
care to donate one and I'll do a full usability *cough* study *splutter* on
it... ;)

Hi Sean,

I'd like to suggest doing a search on insight.com to see another example of filtered results.

I don't mean for this to be a selfish plug by any means (as a matter of fact, I welcome any critiques...), but we've developed a navigated or filtered search similar to what you describe. The idea behind it is the user can continue to narrow/filter and always get a result. We use links instead of dropdowns.

Tracking/Reporting Issues/Improvements

Hello All,

Just joined the list, and must admit that I haven't seen what kind of
content streams through here, so hopefully my first post won't be too off...

I'm trying to come up with a good system for tracking all of the data I
generate/collect about the products we develop here. Typical info usually
includes:

* Usability issues
* UI Guideline issues - consistency, standards, etc.
* Artwork issues (masks that need clean-up, etc.)
* Feature/UI ideas for making product more useful

What tools do you use to keep this all going? Filemaker database?

Design patterns for parametric comparisons

Hi Everyone,
 
Long time lurker, first time writing.

I'm currently working on a project that requires
sorting and comparison of multiple parameters
associated to each product served up in a search
results page and I would love to get some opinions
from this community.

In my particular industry, the standard display for
this type of information is to display all of the
results in a sortable table, giving the user ability
to sort each column.

ADMIN: Viruses & Worms

Hello,

I've gotten a couple of people telling me that they are getting viruses from
the list or just generally from "interactiondesigners.com".

Some of you may know this about the latest evolution of e-mail viruses,
worms, and what-not and if you do, feel free to delete. Others may not have
this understanding and haven't been so lucky as to have experienced it
themselves yet. For the latter bunch it would behoove you to read this
message.

The latest set of viruses does something akin to the following (I'm more
concerned with the effect than the technical workings here).
