Research on Scrolling on small devices?

I¹m looking for some good research about how scrolling of information is
best shown on small devices. Specifically looking for research around where
scroll indicators should be positioned.

Any and all references appreciated.

Functional Specs (long and getting longer) [Trevor]

I'm starting to experiment with rapid prototyping in my company. I looked at
the Axure website and it looks like exactly what I need :

- ability to create simulations
- ability to compile the simulation into a printed functional specs

I'm wondering if there's any other product out there that anyone's tried
out/uses. How does Axure stack up to Visio?

On-screen legibility

Basic Perception:

Light/bright dominates. It is easier to find a star in the dark night sky
than to find a dark dot on a sheet of white paper.

Light/bright "blooms". esp. In a back-lit lightsource-driven environment,
like a TV or computer monitor, light images visually "grow" and "bleed" onto
darker backrounds.

eBay's double search form

Hello all

Just wondering if anyone can tell me a little about eBay's two search forms
on their frontpage. Since they are practically identical and are quite
close to each other, how do users respond to them? There aren't that many
websites with similar structure except Amazon.com but the two search forms
serves different purposes and are labeled clearly(one saids search
Amazon.com and other reads A9 Web Search).

I started using eBay extensively about a few months ago and the feature
confused me even as an intermediate computer user.
