Is there a common name for the collection of media player controls?

Is there a common name for the collection of buttons usually near the
bottom of media players? I am speaking of FFW, RWD, Play, etc. for apps
like iTunes and Windows Media Player. The name I am looking for should
describe the entire collection of buttons. The first that came to mind
was "media player controls" but I am fairly certain I just made that up.

Motorola navigation scheme all over the place?

Hi list

Does anyone know where the Motorola mobile phone navigation style is going?
They sell phones with 2 and 3 softkeys and both left and right negative
option placement.

I got somewhat excited about the Z8 phone. From looking at review images and
videos, it seems like they have a consistent "negative options to the right"

Do you use UI patterns?

I'm conducting a survey on how people use UI patterns. Specifically, I'm
curious about whether people use the patterns in "Designing Interfaces" in
the ways that I thought they'd be used. Are they used as design advice?
Brainstorming tools? A lingua franca? Design instruction?

New member + issue with ixda.org homepage

Hello, I'm a new member.
In fact, I've never subscribed to a mailing list before, so I
apologize in advance if I go out of my way in my mannerism.

I wanted to bring up an issue with the homepage of http://www.ixda.org/en/
When you ctrl+scroll on IE to increase the font size, everything works
fine as expected.

Suggestions or Templates for Creative Brief + User Requirements for Design Firm

I am seeking some advice on how to document our design requirements for
our business stakeholders to review and to hand off to an external
design firm.

We are conducting a redesign of some major elements on our website. We
have an internal user experience team, but we do not have enough
resources to complete the project internally, so we're hiring an
external design firm.

I've been coordinating usability research to inform the design, and I
have very solid thinking about the design direction.
