product SUITE design

I'm struggling a little with the design of a product suite.

The products perform very different functions, but they do

makeup a suite of tools that can be used in conjunction.

The struggle is:

1) What design elements (banners, navigation, interaction patterns,
etc.) should be the same?

2) What can be different?

IxD people of NYC, mid august

Hi People

Some colleges of mine (at my new job http://Ergonomidesign.se) are
coming to NYC on aug 17-20 and they wondered if I knew any interesting
IxD related people/companies to meet :) What better place to ask then
this list?

It's the manager of and two other guys from the IxD department who's
coming from the AP event in Washington that week.

Open to any kind of suggestions if you want to take a chance to meet
and talk to IxDers from one of Swedens largest design firms.

If so, please contact me of-list.

All the best!

Apple's Gesture Dictionary

Apple's most recent patent is for a "multi-touch gesture dictionary".
I'm most interested in figure 2, which suggests using a thumb and
finger pinch to cut content, and spread to paste (functions not
currently available on the iPhone). The patent describes thumb and 2
finger and 3 finger actions, as well as clockwise and counter
clockwise gestures. Some of them seem quite intricate, but the simple
ones could be fairly intuitive.

[JOB] User Interface Developer -Telecommute[RECRUITER]

Hahaha.

But seriously, there are a few of these people out there. Remove the
word "mastering," substitute a commodore 64 then DOS then C/Java for
"unix," and you'd almost have me. ;)
Of course, I went into UX design instead, but I have a passable
knowledge of usability engineering... Alas, no brokering.

But beyond finding such a person, is it realistic to have such diverse
requirements for one position?
