interested in joining the IXDA Pittsburgh planning team?

Dear Pittsburgh area IXDAers,

We've held two events in the past four months.

To build on that energy, I'm looking for a few other people who might help

If you are interested, please contact me by December 5.

[EVENT] Chicago IxDA meet-up at the PhizzPop Design Challenge - Dec. 5

I am remiss in not mentioning earlier that the local Chicago IxDA is excited
to hold our monthly meet-up at the Phizz Pop Design Challenge, being held on
Wednesday, December 5th (how is that next week already?). As Chris Bernard
said, though, you need to register, so follow the link below for more

Our November event was a great success, with close to 40 people in
attendance! One thing is clear, folks are excited to have a local forum to
bring the list topics to life.

Define the "User Centered Design" process

I know I'm asking for a war here, but let's try it anyway. I think if we
came up with a common definition of what a UCD process looks like, it would
be a lot easier to settle some of these debates.

Some have said UCD simply means keeping the user at the forefront of your
attention while doing design work. Some have said it means creating personas
and scenarios, doing thorough user research, etc. Some have said ad-hoc
personas are suitable in many situations. The list goes on. But my
understanding has always been that UCD is a process.

How's this for user friendly?

> Gibson introduces the first robot guitar.

Lots of risk in breaking all those moving parts, but beyond that, it's
fantastic. A great solution to a very common problem.
