[ADMIN] Please take a moment to read

Sorry for the interruption, folks. Please take a moment to read a few
notes from your moderator.

1. PLEASE TRIM YOUR POSTS. Recently, we've seen an increasing number
of members forgetting to trim their posts. When composing your
messages, please take a moment to trim quoted material from your
posts. Please leave only the minimal amount of quoted material
necessary to convey context. Trimming your post helps reduce the noise
on the list--which is really important for a high-traffic forum like
ours.

New coming prototyping tool: Adobe Thermo

Quite often in this list the "prototyping tools" question is sent. Maybe

Has somebody more information about this new tool?

Thanks,

Paper Prototyping: Hi-Fi & Lo-Hi Together

Hi all.

Apologies if this topic has already been covered.

In a project I am involved with, I am presented with a situation regarding Paper Prototyping.

We are currently overhauling the UI for our products and plan to evaluate the UI concept designs with Paper Prototyping very soon.

The original plan was to develop all the screens with graphical visualisations. However our Graphics designer said that they are unable to draw all of the screens on time for the test. It has been suggested that we replace all the un-drawn screens with wireframes for the test sessions.

Bulk-content creators

We're considering using an SEO strategy whereby a company creates several
hundred content pages with relevant keywords (to our site) that link back to
our site, in order to increase our search engine rankings.

how to test GUI requirements

Hi folks,

I was hoping that some of you might have wisdom to share with me on
the issue of testing GUI requirements.

Some background.... One of my clients is a medical device company
making Class III devices, so their formal requirements validation &
verification process (more commonly called testing) is an extremely
significant portion of the overall development cycle. They mainly use
automated testing protocols to test the software, ensuring that it
responds as specified to user & system actions.

A good source for stats on browsers, screen resolution, OS, etc.

MarketShare is a good source of some recent and free statistics
frequently asked for by designers:

Browsers:

Screen resolution:
http://marketshare.hitslink.com/report.aspx?qprid=17

Search engines:

Some categories have a geographical filter, and you can get data by
location, if needed.

Fixing bugs is not fixing design!

Excerpted from a post on my blog:

Would love feedback fromn IxDA'ers...

At Dux2007 <http://www.dux2007.com/> in Chicago, I attended a workshop where
I asked the group why we don't design software like we do hardware? Why
don't we spend more time in prototypes, mockups, etc. One of the attendees,
a software designer...
