Extending the Keyboard

A Russian design firm, namely Art Lebedev Studio is designing input devices
with OLED screens.
(see: http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/)

Well, I get idea of replacing the standard keyboard with the one that has

The Critique - your rules for a productive session

To distract you all a moment from the current frenzy of posts, I am looking
for your input on a very specific topic: the Critique.

The Critique is an art in and of itself. It is an opportunity for designers
to get feedback on their work, to illicit suggestions and to uncover areas
that need refinement or alternatives. However, not all of those who attend
critiques - or who are considered designers (IxD, UI, UE, UX, whatever) -
these days have had formal art or design training, and who therefore have
not been taught the fine art of how to effectively critique or how to be

Sharing/Bookmarking UI

Hello everybody :)

I'm designing blog. And client wants to have option for visitors to
add/submit particular post to online bookmarking or digg-like
But there are so many of them around..

Is there any better solutions than simply pick 5-10 of them hoping
that current visitor uses one of them?

What is Graphic Design?

Here's a refreshing approach. Turns out it's possible to address
definitions without bitter discussion threads. Who knew? :-)

Fields order in a job form

Hi everybody,

I'm wondering how to order fields in a job search form.

My first guess was to place the fields in the following order:

1- Keywords
2- Job
3- Area
4- Experience
5- Type of Contract

According to my client, the right way is to put the keywords field at the

On the other hand, it seems to me that user prefers to search by keywords,
rather than from a job drop-down list.

Happy Friday All~

I'm wondering if anyone in the group has any resources for design
documentation. I have a pretty good handle on my own documents, wireframes,
sitemaps, flows and the like; but I've been charged with the task of
redesigning and standardizing documentation for an entire production team.
I'm looking for inspiration from creative agencies, to see how they brighten
up and make mundane documents usable and even sometimes enjoyable. Any links
would be appreciated:)
