[Event] Vancouver IxDA -- Interactive Display Centre Tour

First Vancouver IxDA event of 2009 is lined up!

We've got a private tour at the Vancouver Port Authority Interpretive
Center!

The Center is a few years old now, and it is one of the first examples in
this city of an attempt at such an undertaking. We will hear, in their
words, their vision of the desired result, the challenges they faced, and
see how well the installation has aged.

It's a great opportunity for us to all participate in a real-world design
challenge and then get together afterwords to debrief on the experience and
brainstorm about potential redesign ideas.

Microsoft Surface and Windows 7

I was just wondering what people thought about the new Microsoft
Surface. Has anyone had a chance to demo it or play with the SDK?
Also, any thoughts on how interaction design will be impacted with MS
Surface technology being used with Windows 7 (due out late 09 early
10)? What preemptive measures can we take to deal with the shift in
how a user interacts (touch screen vs mouse) with applications on
there desktop pc or laptop?

Thanks,
Jake

How do you present designs to remote stakeholders?

Happy New Year!

I'm working for an agency that wants to move into bringing web-based
collaborative tools to our team and clients. While I've come across many
good options for traditional project management and groupware systems, I was
wondering if anyone on the list had a preferred tool that serves as a
repository for uploading/displaying files for client viewing, feedback, and
approval.

Basecamp is one option I've used that enables clients to be involved in the
project management process, but I'm not sure most of our clients have that
level of web-savvy-ness.
