[offtopic] how to manage some of these heated threads

I just tripped over this lovely article, which I think is applicable to some
of the threads I've been seeing

WAP site best practice and insights

Background: I'm working on a WAP site to compliment a campaign site
that is housed within a large brand site.

The campaign site includes:
- campaign messaging
- videos (ranging from 30-120 seconds)
- annectodal stories from customers
- links to other areas of the site (learn more, find a product...)

The mobile project involves using the above messaging and assets in a
mobile environment. To help me prioritize the content, I'd greatly
appreciate some best practices and insights, specifically:

1. Are people likely to watch videos (assuming they are relevant and
well done) on a mobile site?

Streamlined sign up flow

Does anyone have any examples of articles discussing the cons of having a
sign-up process before using an application that requires personal
information (i.e. your address). I remember reading articles a while back on
how asking for personal info when someone just wants to try out your app is
a huge turn off to users (for obvious reasons) and you really want to reduce
all barriers to entry.

Have you written or read something like this recently?

AIGA & IxDA?

Hi everyone,

IxDA is in a position where different organizations, both for- and
non-profit, approach IxDA and are interested in finding ways to
collaborate with us (and sometimes it is us instigating with them, as
well). There are many things to weigh when considering how complex
these relationships can (and should) be. Do our missions intersect in
complimentary ways? Are there events both organizations attend that
makes a natural connection?

MEX 2009 (London) anyone?

Hi all

I was wondering if anyone is planning to attend MEX 2009, London this year.

I had registered a seat on the website but currently am unable to go for the
event due to client work. The terms & conditions of the conference require
me to pay atleast 50% of the conference fee for my cancellation until I find
someone who can replace me (or I can transfer my registration to).
