Looking for data to refute crazy client

The system should programmatically choose a new temporary password and
should send it to the user, with a note reminding them to change it
immediately. The administrators should not have direct access to the
temporary or user-selected passwords.

Functions that the administrators are able to perform on behalf of
users should be done via their own login credentials, so the actions
can be distinguished from the user's.

Interviewing sales teams and customer call centers for project research

In planning a new website for a client, I'll get the chance to
observe their call centers and sales process in addition to
interviewing the company's representatives.

I am developing lists of questions to use when interviewing these
teams, and I thought I'd ask for your input.

I can't get too specific about the client, so at a high level, what
topics would you try to cover when interviewing the following teams?

1) Inbound sales call center
2) Customer support call center
3) Face-to-face sales representatives
4) Sales manager
5) Customer support manager

Where is the "Sign In" on Amazon.com?

I always stumble when signing in to Amazon (I may be the only one, I don't
know).
Does anyone have any background information on why they chose to break with
convention (for signing in)?

IxDA website project: it\'s a go!

Dear IxDA community & those who care about us,

Firstly, THANK YOU again to all the IxDA supporters from around the
globe who contributed financially during our recent fundraising
drive. IxDA garnered $15,813, over half-way towards our ambitious
goal of $30,000 to support the IxDA.org website redesign project
(code-named Conan).

Some folks have been wondering if the Conan project will be able to
continue despite not reaching our fundraising goal. I'm happy to
announce that the project is very much a GO! The fundraiser was not
the determining factor for this project.

Teaching IxD through design challenges: Which challenges?

Hi all,
I am interested in teaching interaction design through problem
setting. I've seen a lot of books with titles like "Programming
challenges" and it makes a lot of sense to learn programming through
hands-on problem solving. I consider that the same is true of
Interaction Design.

That being the case, my questions are:

1. What graded list of problems or challenges would constitute part
of a good IxD course?
2.

Microsoft Expressions Color Palette - Background/Foreground Colors

I have a new client that is using the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
platform and Microsoft Expression Studio for a new web design of their
current application. The web application is to be used by data entry and
business people for long periods of time every day. They have chosen a MS
Expression template/color palette that is VERY dark, with black and dark
blue backgrounds and white text.
