Only 1 1/2 hours left of the "Give a Little Back" support drive

Only an hour and a half left! The IxDA Board has a challenge out, raise
$600 by the end of this and we'll match up to that amount.

Raise $600 and the IxDA Board will match

We're getting there!

2 1/2 hours left, we're almost to $15,000.

As of 2:30 GMT, we are at $14,547 and we have 695 contributors. Those
contributors have been individuals, businesses and other representatives
from other organizations, like our friends at the IAI and UPA. Let's keep
going!

The IxDA Board has pooled together another round of contributions to
challenge you to match us. We will match the contributions from now until
the end of the support drive, up to $600.

Multimedia research and journalism degree...

Greetings!

I am developing a course in streaming for the Web. It is for a Bachelor of
Journalism program. I have the technology down fairly well but here is the
problem. As a part of a degree program there is supposed to be a theoretical
base to some of the work. Does anyone know of any research into multimedia
from a theoretical perspective? I have searched high and low: there is a lot
of research into multimedia as a means of education but not much into
multimedia itself.

As an alternative has anyone read/heard anything about the business case for
multimedia?

Bing vs Google (or, preference vs brand loyalty)

http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/06/25/study-suggests-people-prefer-bings-design-to-googles-but-still-wont-switch/

Interesting post that puts a LOT of weight on eye-tracking. Ooh
shiney. I'm not sure how the author concludes that if his statistics
aren't valid (sample size = 12) somehow the eye tracking results by
themselves are significant.

Other thoughts?

ARTICLE: Designers who wireframe

I wrote an article recently exploring the potential pitfalls of
designers who also do IA (in this case, wireframes) and I'd love
some feedback. I'm also interested in adding more before-and-after
examples if anyone is willing to share.

Thanks!

4 1/2 hours left of "Give a Little Back"

It's the last push. So far, with the generous contributions of 681 people,
we have raised $14, 031! If we get to at least $15,000, we will have
reached half of our goal. Every little bit helps.

For those of you who have graciously embedded the widget in your site, you
may notice that ChipIn ended the event LITERALLY at 12:00am PST on the 26th,
and there is no way to restart an event.
