What are common Application Software Development Team sizes?

I am one of two interaction designers at a hardware company, and am
curious about the interaction design teams who work at software
companies and develop application software. What are the average
team sizes for the development of the User Interface and
Interactions?

Security question: plain text entry or masked?

Hi all,

I'm reviewing an account creation page that contains username,
password, confirm password, a drop-down selection for security
question and a plaintext box for entering the security answer.

It's my gut feeling that the "security answer" box should also be
masked just like the password entries, although this would then
require another confirmation box. A quick Google on the subject did
not turn up any definitive answers so I turn it over to the wisdom of
the list...

Just for your interest, when I first got involved in card sorting I came
across a paper from a research team at an automotive manufacturer. They
had used card sorting in a big way to get people to say what dashboard
components and controls ought to be grouped together.
