Nearness

http://vimeo.com/6588461

This is a cute little exploration of some ways to interact without
touching. The implementation is a bit Rube Goldberg but may say
something about ambient interfaces in general.

Best regards,

Google Fast Flip

"Fast Flip is a new reading experience that combines the best
elements of print and online articles. Like a print magazine, Fast
Flip lets you browse sequentially through bundles of recent news,
headlines and popular topics, as well as feeds from individual top
publishers."
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/read-news-fast-with-google-fast-flip.html

I like the addition of recommended and popularity filters, which I
hope spread to other Google products.

Navigation: flyout menu\'s on online newspaper websites

Hi all.

I am interested in canvasing opinion and feedback on flyout menu’s.

Our organisation includes many online newspaper websites – which is
the domain I focus on here.

Recently, we conducted a competive gap analysis against benchmark
competitors looking at different areas of user experience, content
strategy and obviously information architecture and navigation.

Plurality of Voice

I am growing disgusted with the IxDA list. I wonder if I am the only one.

Many conversations lately have featured a very small number of contributors very vocally arguing minute details in a long serial of posts. As much as I have enjoyed the open and inclusive nature of this list, I am now wishing there was a daily limit of posts that would force certain people to be more thoughtful in what they say, and how often they say it.

Please try to be your own editor.

[PLUG] The Joy of Running (On)

Lately I've found myself writing a lot of run-on sentences...on
purpose.

Come see why you might benefit from this technique that helps define
your solution or align your team on large-scale strategic projects.

http://oxbyd.wordpress.com/

Also, if you have a favorite run-on of your own, please share it on
my run-on Hall of Fame page!
