Coroflot 2009 Designer Salary Survey closes Thursday night

A quick announcement and reminder that the 9th Annual Coroflot
Designer Salary Survey is currently open, but will be closing down at
midnight EST on Thursday, October 29.

Although there are a number of surveys that include IxD salaries,
Coroflot's is unique in the breadth of other design disciplines it
encompasses, offering a rare chance to view IxD in the context of the
creative professions overall.

The presence of the IxD field on the Survey, and on Coroflot as a
whole, has been growing dramatically over the past few years, so
we're eager to get as many responses as possible.

Questions to measure different levels of Situation Awareness

Hi,
does anyone have a set of (validated) questions to measure situation
awareness in perception, comprehension, and projection?

The questions will be used to evaluate and compare an integrated display
with the conventional way of showing the data.
I plan to modify the questions to reflect my specific testing scenarios.

Recommend a webcam to use with Morae?

Can anyone recommend a webcam to use with Morae? I've used (and will
continue to use) a Logitech Webcam Pro, but I'm in the market for an
additional camera, and the Logitech has an unfortunate tendency to crash
the computer - I don't know if it's a problem with it interacting with
Morae specifically or not, because that's the only time I use the
webcam. I've worked with Techsmith's support and downloaded a new
driver, which helps but does not completely fix the problem.

Tools for Faceted Search

Does anyone know of good tools for enabling faceted search? I've seen
this:

but it looks pretty old. I work for a university, so pricey
commercial solutions probably won't work for us.

landing page best practices

I'm looking for best practices for marketing campaign landing pages
for websites. Such as direct path to call-to-action; limit
distractions, consistent look-and-feel from ad or email to landing
page, etc.
Any research to indicate best placement for CTA on the page? (above
the fold, of course).
Checked the archive and wikipedia; found some good guidelines here
http://landingpages.blogspot.com/ but looking for research-backed
recommendations, specifically for marketing campaign landing pages.
