Someone at work sent this to me and mentioned it is rare to find interface design humor .

We really that serious most of the time? This will make us laugh at ourselves because you and I

know we would get asked at some point to implement something like this.

Ergonomics / UX / Human factors / Interaction design / Usability specialists : I get confused

Hello,

I'm french and I work as what we call an "ergonome". I'm a bit confused about all the terms that are used to speak about "UX/usability/interaction" related jobs in the english speaking world : I read things about "Interaction designers", "Human factor specialists", "User experience specialist", "Usability specialists", "Information architects", and I'm... lost.

Death of the Desktop

Do old school IxDers / dackers (designer + hacker) really thought that the user is that stupid that the only way for them to properly use a computer was to invent a metaphor... and use it EVERYWHERE.

Re: [IxDA] All microwave interfaces are COMPLETELY different

I used to have a microwave that just had two knobs and a handle.

Knob 1 = Time. If time > 0 and the door was closed, the microwave turned on. Dial 2 = Power level. Pull the handle = Stop now. Close the door = Continue.

NO BUTTONS. I miss that microwave.
