MSc in Human Computer Interaction - which one is best ?

Hi all,

I am planning to do a MSc in HCI, starting next October.

I have a conditional offer for the universities of Bath, York and Nottingham.

Which one of those do you guys think has the best HCI MSc ?

Bath - http://www.bath.ac.uk/comp-sci/pgt/msc/msc-hci.html

York - http://www.cs.york.ac.uk/postgraduate/taught-courses/msc-hcit/

Nottingham - http://pgstudy.nottingham.ac.uk/postgraduate-courses/human-computer-interaction-masters-msc/course-content_1180.aspx

Thanks in advance,

Raphael

Experimental Interaction Design summer course in Tallinn

Hi all,

I've just found this summer course

http://summerschool.tlu.ee/new-media-experimental-interaction-design/

It looks interesting, and...so cheap! Only 300 euros for 2 weeks. Does anyone of you know this course, or Tallinn University?

I would like to read some review before applying, as I'm considering - in alternative - the Central St Martins London summer courses (more expensive, but I attended last year and I know it worth the money)

thank you!

Cheers

Claudia

How do you get fast?

Hi everyone, I have a simple question:

How do you get (and stay) fast?

I'm imagining many of us need to work under strict deadlines and budgets, and of course keeping within the boundaries of those budgets is an important quality of the work we do. So what are your tricks? How do you manage estimations, planning, and generally how do you get really fast at what you do? I'm interested in everything from tricks with the tools to how you go through the day, to how you plan your time in a project.

Looking forward to awesome answers!

Asking Designers: to code or not to code?

While fully agreeing with the importance of code literacy for designers, I started to wonder exactly in which situations designers might want to do some actual coding themselves, and in which they shouldn't. I wrote an article about it, and I thought I'd post here the link to the article, together with the entire content. It's meant to be more of a discussion starter, so your comments are welcome!

Personas - Dead or Alive?

Hi all,

I did a search here on IxDA for "Persona" and to my surprise nothing returned.
There has been some artcles around the website for the last bit stating that Personas are dead, or out dated.

GLIDE Conference??

Hey IxDA folk,

I just came across this site, http://www.glideconference.org/, which is a global conference on interaction design (virtual conference). It seems heavily academic in its focus, but was curious if anyone in this community is familiar w/ the conference and the organization surrounding it.

Just curious.
