Content Practice Lead

iQ Content are looking to hire a smart, motivated person to take the lead role in our content practice. Our content team work alongside our user experience design and development teams to provide the insights, words and pictures that bring meaning to the websites, applications and mobile services we create.

About the role

This role requires expert knowledge of online content combined with the capability to build and lead a team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear ability to think commercially and to drive the definition and refinement of our content services. This role requires expertise in:

• Content auditing and evaluation,
• Writing and editing,
• Designing and evaluating information architecture,
• Using web analytics to measure content performance,
• Providing training to clients and staff as well as leading project workshops

Practical experience of one of more CMSs will be considered an advantage. You must also be comfortable working alongside a team of designers and developers, to create content that is an integral part of an interactive experience.

As this is a team management role, you also need to be capable of:

• Recruiting new members of your team.
• Mentoring team members, reviewing their career progress and planning their professional development.
• Setting business goals for the company's content service, meeting these goals, and reporting to the board of directors on your progress.
• Defining and refining the company's content services, and collaborating to integrate these with our other services.

Practice Leads are also expected to become active contributors to the company blog and to our participation in conferences and other industry events.

Required Skills and Experience

We are looking for a person with at least 5 years experience in online media, who can demonstrate a clear potential to develop the content team within iQ Content. You may have a background in journalism or in advertising as a copywriter, with extensive knowledge of the web. You can confidently demonstrate the following personal characteristics:

• Creativity. You must be able to work within constraints to deliver new and clever solutions to problems.
• Excellent communication skills. You need to be able to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively in writing and in person.
• The ability to get things done. You get things done in the face of tight deadlines and on your own initiative.
• Passion for learning and teaching: You realise you don't know it all, and are willing to learn from others and teach what you know.
