We work as user experience consultants with Global 2000 clients and are
expanding our team with a local client in Sunnyvale.
What’s the role?
Be a part of a business transformation team working with an industry
leader on a highly visible project solving end-to-end business process
challenges and creating a world-class UX for a global application.
Responsibilities
• Work as a member of the user experience team to document the UI
specification and wireframes for an enterprise quote to invoice application.
• Elicit system requirements using interviews, document analysis,
requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process
descriptions, use cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis.
• Translate business requirements into a visual design specification
document and prototype solutions with the Axure prototyping tool.
• Design the interface, interaction flow and key UX decisions for an enterprise web application.
• Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, and visual
mockups.
• Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
• Build upon and expand established style guides and UI patterns
• Promote usability best practices and conduct usability tests and
research
• Establish and maintain clear scope boundaries for the solution.
• Collaborate with resources to ensure all design requirements
adequately reflect the defined business processes and fully support all
components of the functional business requirements.
• Analyze methodologies for process improvements, better utilization of
resources, product enhancements, improved communications and faster
issue resolution.
• Represent the User Experience team in client meetings regarding new
business initiatives and/or changes.
• Other duties may be assigned based on company needs.
Relationships
• Reports to: Lead UX Architect
• Regularly interacts with other members of Professional Services,
Client business process and IT teams.
Requirements
Education/Training
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in an IT-related
field
• Interaction design and UCD training and experience required
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience
• 5+ years of business analysis experience
• 7+ years of user interface design for enterprise web applications.
• Must have experience with requirements analysis, interacting with
business users to define clear scope and assemble and manage proper
cross-functional teams.
• Experience in an Agile SDLC environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience in enterprise hardware technology a plus
Skills/Competencies
• Experience with Axure prototyping tool a major plus
• Experience with Visio and Powerpoint a plus
• Strong knowledge in best practices for web-based information
architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability
principles and techniques
• Strong knowledge of prototyping methodologies and tools
• Strong technical writing skills a major plus
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills required, including a
thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and
translate them into technical and operational design requirements.
• Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing
for dynamic AJAX-based web 2.0 applications
• Familiarity with task flow diagramming.
• Ability to create illustrations for stylized graphic artwork and icons
is a plus
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to various audiences from
application end users to clients and internal senior leadership.
• Proven leadership skills and project management skills.
• Ability to read communication styles of team members and clients who
come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented,
collaborative environment.
• Ability to travel (up to 5%).
• Strong user centered design skills and experience on enterprise
application designs
