Qualifications:

· 3+ years of experience working as a UX Designer (or similar role) in the design of websites, web applications, desktop, and/or mobile applications.
· Mastery of new media design tools: Adobe Creative Suite CS4 (Photoshop, Illustrator)
· Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, UX Design, Technical Communication, Human Factors, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree a plus.
· Evidence of continuing coursework/education in Design and User Experience (in order to demonstrate passion and desire to keep knowledge base current)
· Knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research.
· Requires strong online portfolio demonstrating experience in UX Design and Technical Communication (applicants without an online portfolio will not be considered)
· Preferable characteristics: A “can do” attitude with a strong desire to get the job done well.

Description:

User eXperience (UX) Strategy
· Directly responsible for delivering all aspects of design, from defining customer needs to delivering concepts and prototypes to UI specifications to documentation
· Author and execute the UX Strategy for Data Storage Software and Documentation
· Author and execute the UX Strategy for Marvell’s Data Storage flagship web application
· Develop and evangelize a UX Vision for Data Storage Technical Communication

Documentation
· Author PDF and web-based communication artifacts that support PCB and ASIC products in Data Storage with a focus on visual/interaction experience (using 3D vector HD graphics, and Flash Animations. Video and Cinema 4D Animations a plus.)
· Design and execute a compelling end-to-end user experience for Data Storage documentation—from assessing the needs of the customer and prioritizing the in-demand features for the documentation to using interactivity and feedback mechanisms to further improve the product documentation.

Interdisciplinary Focus
· Use design tools such as Personas and Scenarios to design experiences that “wows” customers (requires compilation of case study that is presented to the larger Technical Writing community both at Marvell and perhaps outside of Marvell).
· Conduct an on-going review of trends in art, media, design, and communication to determine newer ways of delivering better communication (requires quarterly report on trends in art, media, design, and communication as applicable to work at Marvell)
· Utilize industry design standards and best practices to define and implement design criteria, design guidelines, and design specs (Expected deliverables include UI Style Guide, UI Patterns Library, SW Documentation Style Guide, among others).
