Design Synthesis with Jon Kolko
On January 27th from 6:30pm-8:00pm, IxDA Maine is very excited to have Jon Kolko, author of “Exposing the Magic of Design: A practitioner’s Guide to the Methods and Theory of Synthesis”, join us for a talk on design synthesis. Design synthesis is the unspoken leap we designers take to frame and make sense of the design problems we’re trying to solve. Come learn more about the secret sauce of design and how to bridge the gap between design research and design solutions using actionable and repeatable methods.
This is must attend event for all design practitioners!
This event is continuation in our effort to help Portland Trails to re-imagine how their users interact with their services. If you have had a chance to experience the trails for yourself, bring your observations to the event on the 27th. We’ll try and use some of the methods Jon will be showing us.
We’ll announce the location of this event in the next few weeks. Please show up before 6:30pm so we can start promptly and plan on staying to 8:00pm.
Jon Kolko is the Executive Director of Design Strategy at Thinktiv, a venture accelerator in Austin, Texas. He is also the Founder and Director of the Austin Center of Design, an educational institution teaching interaction design and social entrepreneurship. I'll do my best to make it! My band has an audition during the late afternoon.
