Join us for our first meeting of the IxDA Bloomington chapter! Come network with other designers in the Bloomington area! Please RSVP on our IxDA Meetup Group to help us anticipate how many people are coming.
IxDA, or the Interaction Design Association, is an international and
professional community of designers. It is in this spirit that the
Bloomington chapter of IxDA welcomes local designers from all fields to
participate in this professional community of designers and expand the
ways in which design thinking can be applied to Bloomington area
businesses and professionals.
While we have come up with a foundational structure for the group, we
believe the mission should be designed and defined by its members. To
that end, we propose engaging in a classic brainstorming activity, in
which we articulate the goal of bringing together this diverse community
of professionals, students, designers and developers and define what
everyone wants to get out of the experience.
Not a designer? No problem! This is meant to be a
learning experience for all newcomers, and a mentoring experience for
experienced professionals. We anticipate that after attending a few of
our events, everyone will have some new ideas, contacts, and skills to
add to their toolbox.
We have selected Rachael's Cafe as our venue because of its large,
friendly atmosphere. Rachael's has a great food selection and some of
the best coffee in town... so feel free to come hungry! This first
meeting doesn't have a sponsor so we can't provide food/drink to
start... but if you want to contribute/be-a-sponsor, please let us know
by Tweeting us or posting on Facebook:
Our meetups are meant to be organic, freeform discussion venues. Have
a meetup you'd like to propose in the future? Feel free to do so here.
