On Monday 21 January 2013 IxDA Nederland organizes the 22nd edition of Design by Fire Café. Design by Fire Café is an informal gathering for (interaction) designers. This edition will take place at the Louis Hartlooper Complex in Utrecht.
Design of a Wearable Game Platform
Woven is the first wearable game platform. Playing a game has never been so close to the gamer. After you have literally put on the platform, you can play games anywhere you want. Because the platform uses the motion and biometric data of the user, playing a game will reach a new level. Patrick Kersten, one of the designers, will tell how Woven came about and what major challenges and choices they found on their path.
Patrick Kersten is an interaction designer with a passion for creating innovative interactive products. In September 2012, he graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts. Together with game designer Christiaan Ribbens, he developed the ambitious graduation project Woven. Patrick is currently working to bring this portable (game) platform to the market.
