Maine IxDA is pleased to announce the 2010-2011 Fall to Spring
Schedule. We're trying something different this year. Instead of
having multiple, disparate topics, this year we are going to center
our events around the theme of Ubiquitous Computing. Ubiquitous
computing (or ubicomp) is:
"a post-desktop model of human-computer interaction in which
information processing has been thoroughly integrated into everyday
objects and activities."
Apologies if this is inappropriate but I thought it might be worth a shot to see if any of you fine folks knew of openings for an interactive designer/information architect around the Portland-Freeport area. I'm making the move in October & scouring the interwebs for a new agency to call home.
I've attached my resume in pdf format. It would be greatly appreciated if you had any guidance for me. Hopefully I'll be seeing some of you around town soon!
Last night was the first ever, UX Book Club in
Maine! It was an awesome night of insightful discussion and
exploration into the book by Bill Buxton. There were seven of us
at Bard Coffee where we shared:
1. "Takeaways" from
2. Concepts or practices mentioned in the book which
could be used in everyday practice in our work;
concepts, passages or quotes from the book.
Don't know whether you've ever been in this gorgeous old renovated theatre -- it closed down about 6 months after I saw Interpol there in Oct 2005. Looks like Maine might have a another cool events venue (Poptech Portland, anyone?) in the future.
