In Amazon, for example:

there is hover interaction (is this what you mean?) in the book cover
and in the "See all 34 product categs" tab.
It's similar to a foldout menu, only here they have provided ample
margins to avoid the annoying problem of when the user moves the
pointer slightly ouside the area and everything unfolds.

Thanks for the examples, I should have said I am looking for specifically
fly-out menu type interactions such as the amazon one.
