POSITION TITLE: Manager, User Experience


Intuit's User-Centered Design group in San Diego creates innovative user
experiences enabling consumers and small businesses to file and manage
their taxes effectively. Intuit continues to innovate with new product
offerings while producing the industry leader in our space. The manager
of our User Interface Design team will work closely with product teams
ensuring that we deliver the best user experiences possible. The
manager's key responsibilities include:
- Be a thought leader for a our design team and product teams concerned
with end-to-end user experience and best practices across the business
- Be a source of expertise for the entire Intuit user experience
- Mentor and teach others
- Contribute to the success of product innovation by applying design
best practices and leading teams in conceptual development
- Drive user-centered design processes in the business unit
- Provide people management for members of the user experience teams

Ideally, we are looking for that "special" someone:

- Someone who can take a holistic view of all products and keep the team
- Someone who can challenge a very smart and talented group of designers
and mentor and grow them.
- Someone who is skilled and can inspire the group through their
previous work, they can demonstrate skills and build confidence.
- Someone with knowledge of UR practices and work with the research

who can motivate, build a cohesive team, ensure success of supporting
members Can demonstrate experience, delegation and responsibilities and
can provide a creative outlet.

Qualifications :
The User Interface Design manager will have the following
- at least 7 years industry experience as a hands on designer
- an advanced degree in design, psychology, or other equivalent field
- Direct experience with innovation and new product development
- Experience in a broad range of design and development practices
- Strong understanding of GUI and web design concepts and emerging
- Successful experience with people management
