Designer to help improve the overall user experience for products within
the Enterprise Communications and Applications Division (ECAD), while
helping to create an infrastructure for user centered design (UCD)
practices throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the ECAD User Interface Manager and in
collaboration with product and development managers, the Senior
Interaction Designer will be responsible for:

v Organizing, conducting, and succinctly communicating the results
of field studies to improve the organization's knowledge about our
users.

v Working closely with cross functional teams to understand
requirements, technical constraints, feature prioritization, and design
goals, to obtain agreement through negotiation, and to ensure buy-in of
design directions through participatory design and UI Design
Specification reviews.

v Proposing designs for UIs based on user data, human factors best
practices, industry experience, and company standards, guidelines, and
style guides.

v Producing UI Design Specifications that include target personas
and their goals, task analysis, workflow diagrams, scenarios, navigation
schemes/information architecture, low-fidelity wireframes, and
widget-by-widget behavior details, as well as address corporate look and
feel, accessibility, internationalization, and security requirements.

v Organizing, conducting, and effectively communicating the results
of usability tests on features in various stages of design and/or
development.

v Supporting development teams as they implement UIs based on your
Design Specifications.

v Challenging and contributing to the company's UI standards,
guidelines, and style guides.

v Educating development teams on user-centered design methodologies
/ tools, enabling them to handle some features independently.

v Helping to evangelize user-centered design throughout the
organization.

Qualifications

v Demonstrated experience owning and leading design projects for
complex Web applications.

v Experience collaborating effectively with remote development
teams and working as a team player.

v Excellent design and visualization skills with the ability to
articulate concepts and ideas.

v Ability to adapt designs to changing requirements, priorities,
and feedback from stakeholders.

v Strong communication, presentation, writing, and problem-solving
skills.

v Ability to work quickly and manage multiple projects and
timelines.

v Proficiency with applications used to support user-centered
design, such as Photoshop, Visio, DreamWeaver, Morae, etc.

v 5+ years industry experience.

v Graduate level training in Human Computer Interaction, Human
Factors, or Cognitive Psychology.
