Does anybody see the second edition of Cooper's "The inmates are running the
asylum"
8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/104-7877856-0075954?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)?

Are there any changes in comparison with the first edition (except the
paperback)?

Best wishes

Hi Alexey and all,

I have only seen the 2nd edition which I also just purchased it from
Amazon. From first glance, the only change I've noticed so far is the new
preface by the author. In it he discusses a number of things, but seems to
focus on apologizing for insulting developers/engineers and that doing so
wasn't his intention. Rather he was insulting the process of
development/engineering, including that only in IT does the well educated,
designer/architect also actually do the nitty-gritty building of the system
as well. (Comparing it to an actual architect vs. construction crew.) I
found it to be quite interesting, although "fixing" the process brings to
mind the quest for the holy grail.

Of course, having a development background, it could also be that's what I
remembered most from it. :)

Anyone else?

Mary
