The Senior IA is a member of the corporate team who works with the clients¹
analysts, designers, and technologists to:
-Act as an internal consultant to assess, create and improve Web properties
and applications, based on user-centered design and best practices, for the
company¹s business units worldwide.

The core skills of the information architect include:
- Research and prioritize end-user/business needs and functional
requirements
- Conduct heuristic evaluations; provide user experience/functionality
analysis of competitor sites
- Develop the information architecture for Web sites and online/network
applications
- Develop content/taxonomy/metadata strategy
- Prototype site schematics for presentation to clients
- Document functional behavior
- Perform usability testing

As a leader of the information architecture practice, the Senior IA:
- Identifies information architecture and user-centered design issues and
promotes solutions to internal business and strategy leaders
- Produces training materials and practice standards for growing internal IA
community within the organization
- Develops management and ownership of specific area of IA competency (i.e.
applications, content management, taxonomy/metadata)
- Leads formal training presentations and informal requirements sessions
with business and technology teams
Qualifications:
- Preferably a degree in a related field, such as communications design,
human-computer interaction, or library science
- Strong information architecture capabilities (HCI, design, and information
science skills)
- At least 5 years experience designing for the Web
- Proven ability in conducting and documenting sound, comprehensive
heuristic evaluations and competitive analyses.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent presentation and client relations¹ skills
- Experience designing application interfaces
- Experience planning and conducting user research and usability testing
- Experienced team player in a corporate environment

Salary $90-110K
