The Intuit Small Business Division recently acquired a new business
venture and product. StepUp Commerce, Inc. was a venture-backed company
focused on providing local shopping Internet services for retailers. The
product group's mission is to merchandise local retail inventory to
consumers wherever they are shopping online - Google, Yahoo, and more!
They connect neighborhood stores with the large number of customers who
shop online but prefer to buy locally. They will plan to integrate their
customer base with that of QuickBooks and other SBD product groups,
growing our family of customers and products and services. We're looking
for a talented web designer who thrives in a tight-knit team environment
and wants to help influence business development and local Internet
shopping.

Successful candidate will be well trained in UI/web design, illustrate
an ability to apply strategic thinking and business goals to interaction
and visual design work, possess an understanding of both work flow and
product design, will be known for having a good eye, visual flair, and
aesthetic values, and will have a keen awareness of web design and
development tools. Lead experience a plus.

Ideal candidate will:
* Have strong understanding of web user interface design and the ability
to develop simple, effective and modern web experiences
* Be a strong visual designer who can lead and implement designs within
a fast moving team environment
* Lead by example, smarts, and design principles; illustrate ability to
work independently and collaboratively
* Hold direct responsibility for creating the web user interfaces for
key customer experiences and tasks, considering solid interaction design
and UI architecture principles, visual design and brand implementation
considerations, usability aspects
* Illustrate drive for ease of use and simplicity despite complexity of
web and desktop applications
* Learn new technology and business concepts quickly
* Be capable of defining and implementing interaction and visual design
criteria, design guidelines, and design specs; illustrate experience
with industry and corporate design and brand standards
* Be capable of independent design process, project, and schedule
management
* Prioritize among competing assignments, features, user tasks and needs
* Illustrate experience in conceptual development and creative
prototypes as well as tactical UI design and implementation
* Be a creative problem-solver and an effective communicator, presenter,
and negotiator
* Exhibit ability to collaborate with business unit leadership,
program/product managers, user researchers, UI text writers, peer
designers, and art directors

Qualifications : Requirements and qualifications:
* HTML/DHTML/XML, CSS/CSSX, Ajax, Adobe CS, Acrobat, Flash, Director
* Four-year product/interaction design or graphic design degree
* Eight or more years total industry experience (corporate, software,
web, agency experience)
* Four plus years web UI design, graphic design experience experience.
Application/desktop design and usability skills a plus.
* Strong portfolio available for viewing
* Strong Photoshop, HTML, and prototyping and mockup skills
* Experience with all other major design, multimedia, and operating
system software: Visio/Visual Basic, Flash, Director, Windows, Office
(Word, Excel, Outlook).
