Hello Everyone,

Greetings from Manila!

Our group, along with the Adobe User Group - Philippines, have been
invited by a game publishing company here in Manila to test a new
MMORPG game to be launched this year. My questions is, does any
anybody have pointers what to look out for when it comes to games?
(online games in particular). I would definitely like to make the IxDA
Manila a solid contributor to the process.

Thanks!

Our class just recently went over papers on online gaming and CSCW.
There were some interesting points about the observed interactions
and the types of behaviors to expect. Most of the content is
primarily observational with some design implications at the end.
However, I still believe this is a great way to get into the idea of
gaming and group interactions.

Activity, and Entertainment: A Field Study of a Game MUD. Computer-
Supported Cooperative Work 7: pp. 87-122.

gaming: a study of interaction patterns in a massively multiplayer
online game. in Proceedings of the 2004 ACM Conference on Computer-
Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW04). pp. 360-369.

Best,
Kevin
