User Centric is an established user research and UI design consulting
firm that focuses on improving the user experience. Our team has
extensive experience optimizing products and services. Since 1999, we
have been helping our clients solve their business problems through
better product and user interface design. Our clients represent the
Fortune 500 and we are fortunate to have ongoing research and
collaboration initiatives with many of them.

We will be opening an office in Columbia MD and are looking for 2-3
bright and dynamic user researchers, human factors professionals, or UI
designers to add to our team of user research professionals.

User Centric focuses on user research, usability testing, and iterative
interface design for current and next-generation consumer and business
products. Our primary areas of expertise include:

* Mobile devices and applications
* Medical products, labeling, and applications
* Navigation systems
* Enterprise-oriented software
* Eyetracking
* Web sites

We currently have over 20 full-time technical consultants - all with
graduate degrees - based our main office in Chicago. Our technical team
members are all involved in different aspects of projects - user
research, usability testing, iterative design, UI prototyping, study
design and more.

We are looking for the following in our future DC-area team members:

* Qualifications:
* Master's degree in human factors, HCI, ergonomics, experimental
psychology, or a related research field
* Experience with user-centered design, research, and/or usability
testing, preferably with products
* Past experience working directly with stakeholders and/or clients is
strongly preferred
* Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) including
presentation skills

* Qualities:
* Interest in improving different types of products and interfaces
* Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills
* Initiative, responsibility, and a good sense of humor
* History of working closely with team mates
* Willingness to learn new research methodologies and technical skill
sets
* Willingness to travel from time to time

* Optional Language Skills:
* Fluency in Mandarin, Spanish, French, or German are a significant plus
