Senior User Experience Designer - Princeton, NJ - Permanent Position

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Lead teams in the design and development of user interface (UI) screens, UI
specifications, and related artifacts for software products. Participate in
rapid-prototyping efforts for UI design and development.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Use and interpret functional requirements to create
high level and detailed designs for user interface that include page flow
diagrams, wire frames and detailed screens with supporting documentation. .

* Define site navigation.

* Participate in analysis, present UI options through
rapid prototyping of strategic system functionality to get buy-in from cross
functional teams.

* Work tightly with Systems Engineering to develop the
UI for direct consumption in the solutions using iterative processes

* Analyze, estimate, and scale project scope from an
Experience Design perspective using MS Project

* Conduct Usability Testing and the development of the
final recommendations documents .Conduct heuristic evaluations of a site and
evaluate strategically

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO ADEQUATELY PERFORM THIS ROLE:

* At least 4-5 years experience in IA, User Experience
Design or related field .BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent
experience

* Participation in the development of large-scale,
dynamic client-server implementations using WinForms development and Web
development.

* Experience in understanding and interpreting Business
Requirements and functional specifications and requirements .Knowledge and
application of industry standard SDLC processes and methodologies.

* Experience in research techniques, such as usability
testing and focus groups

* Capacity for strategic, conceptual and associative
thinking (ability to create conceptual designs and strategic supporting
documentation)

* Superb organizational, logic and communication (oral
and written) skills

* In-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies and
products:

* Expert level of knowledge with regard to Visio and
Word.

* Working with Rapid Prototyping tools like iRise or
similar tools for functional prototyping

* Basic to intermediate knowledge of Visual Studio IDE
and .NET 2.0 framework for developing user interfaces

* Experience interacting with and presenting to
clients/management

Additional desirable qualifications:

* Understanding of Internet technologies, such as
databases, e-commerce, client-server, and front-end technologies like HTML,
JavaScript, XML, CSS, Active X

* Understanding and/or experience with Microsoft Vista,
.NET 3.0 framework (WPF), XAML, and Expression suite of tools.

* Experience in tracking software to validate site
usage patterns.

* Knowledge of RoboHelp (or similar Help Authoring
Tool) and/or DreamWeaver
