Web Associates is an interactive agency that designs, develops and
integrates enterprise Web systems for global organizations. We combine
our creative talent with the application development and IT expertise
of an Internet technology firm to deliver both business innovation and
financial results. Our strategists, designers, developers, and network
specialists provide a single-source solution for deploying effective web
initiatives.
The Information Architect is a critical member of the Web Associates
team. They lead the development of the user experience and provide
usability and interaction design insights across a variety of
high-profile engagements. The IA works closely with clients to
intimately understand user needs, becoming the advocate for these needs
throughout the development cycle. They present user experience solutions
to internal teams and clients through blueprints, wireframes, flowcharts
and functional specifications. Going beyond the interactive space, the
IA analyzes, maps and optimizes the total customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Consult with clients about their business goals and propose IA
solutions and strategies that match their needs
* Lead client meetings to capture necessary information during the IA
process
* Research audience characteristics and perform competitive analysis
* Organize sites' content and functionality by creating site blueprints
* Create identifiable nomenclature for users
* Create navigation systems that support users' needs
* Analyze, develop and refine user tasks/processes
* Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams to build user interface

QUALIFICATIONS

* BS degree in Human-Computer Interface, Library Science, Information
Science or related field (Equivalent work experience is also accepted.)
* 3+ years experience in any of the following disciplines: Information
Architecture, Human-Computer Interface (HCI), User Interface Design
(UI), Web Site Usability or Library Science
* Experience and working knowledge of the following: data modeling
techniques, taxonomy/information organization and structuring, software
interface design, usability studies, focus groups, business process
analysis and documentation, Web analytics software packages (HBX,
WebTrends, Omniture)
* Expert level knowledge of the following applications and technologies:
MS Visio, Macromedia MX, Javascript, HTML and DHTML
* Technical understanding of Internet related technologies: database
structuring and content management and knowledge management software
* Professional demeanor
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
* Exceptional attention to detail
* A good sense of humor and desire to work in a very fast paced,
energetic environment
* Strong analytical and leadership skills
* Proactive approach to ensure project/company success
