Position: Interaction Designer
Location: New York City

Method is an independently owned, multi-disciplinary studio with offices
in New York and San Francisco. We combine user-centered design research,
an ability to incubate ideas at a strategic level, and world-class design
talent to create truly out-of-the-box solutions to real-world business
problems. We thrive on tacking the toughest challenges, and designing
elegant, functional, effective solutions that address or customers
business needs. Our clients have included Adobe, American Apparel, Time
Warner Cable, Cooper-Hewitt, Autodesk, Nike, Yahoo!, TiVo, Gucci, and many
more.
Were looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, detail-oriented person to
join our multi-disciplinary team. Interaction designers at Method develop
underlying concepts and detail user interface elements behind large-scale
websites, software applications, and wireless devices. Often referred to
as "User Experience Design," "Information Architecture," "User Interface
Design," "Usability," and "Interaction Design," this is the structure and
function side of the house. This is not a visual design position.
Candidates must have:
- A degree in interaction design and/or at least 2 years of experience
creating site maps, wireframes, and other interaction design deliverables
- Experience using Illustrator and/or OmniGraffle and InDesign
Ideal candidates will:
- Conduct formal and guerilla user research and map findings to detailed
product specifications
- Enjoy thinking at a systemic level as well as working out the details
- Articulate ideas clearly
- Respect the precedents and ideologues or HCI and design, but look to
define new approaches and break some rules
- Deal directly with clients
- Enjoy a collaborative environment
- Demonstrate the highest quality thinking, presentation, and execution
