Request for review of process
Hi there,
As I posted I've been working on a user-centered development process. I took
some input that some of you provided as well as some of my own ideas. It
would be helpful to get some comments back if you're willing. It is meant to
be a guide to work for both a software development project or a website
redesign. At the bottom is a line showing where it would map to the
Microsoft Solutions Framework phases. I should mention the dot on some items
means optional - it may already exist or for said project or may not need to
be done.
Any comments are very much appreciated, good or bad. I plan to write an
accompanying document going into relative detail about each phase and item
(have a rough draft/outline now).
The PDF is here:

Thanks!
Tom

This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing. I have been working on something
similar to insert Product Design into the current Product Development
process.
In the context of my current situation, the only think I see that is missing
is the role Product Management plays in the process.

Thanks Valerie - I must continue to say that I merely put my ideas on to
existing documents. I've gotten some really good feedback already that I
will incorporate into the diagram and repost.

Yes, thanks for sharing. I might suggest having the style guide done by the end of the interaction design phase, for one reason being the visual comp creating may need it to minimize rework. We use outside agencies for a lot of the visual design, and without a style guide, they wouldn't have much of an idea where to begin or what we had in mind..

I'm not sure I understand how wire frames extend beyond prototyping.
Depending on your definition of prototype, prototyping could be more
pervasive throughout the whole process.

Hi Aringa:
Thanks for your sharing of the ideas.
I'm not sure I really get the spirit of the process. here's some comment to
the pdf's content:
1. since it's about a process, it's better that you add the input and output
of each phase, ;-), since we know the process is the line between the two
points
2. pls give your priciple of the process (the problem you try to solve and
the basic princile behind the designing of the process)
3. if you can also define the process buy using the process it's self to
demotrate it's strength (and shortcomings?)
Cheers
