don't forget Parallels or VMWare.
Both run Windows quite nicely on a Core Duo 2 machine with 2 GBs of RAM -
this gives you access to a slew of Windows apps from Visio to Axure to GUI
Designer, all of which are great for UxD.

I'm sorry that I didn't have a chance to participate in the Mac
switcher thread. I was distracted by a new job and a medical problem.

I'll second the need for Parallels or VMWare Fusion (I'd suggest the
latter, as it also supports non-Windows OSs for Intel).
As a UX person, you'll want to compare designs and behaviors across
multiple platforms.
One last note: the animation tools in Apple Keynote make it an
excellent tool for rapid prototyping of simple interface behaviors
