I just went to the beta site with the goal of changing to digest format,
but I found that I can't choose digest as an option anymore. And a
colleague of mine noticed that she hadn't received her digest email in
quite a while.
Did digest go away?
Yeah, I want to opt into the digest. How do I do it?

To do the digest version you need to configure that through the old
mailman interface. Directions can be found at
Recommendation: Instead of using the digest version, I would
recommend that if people used the new beta.ixda.org site that they
might prefer to use the new RSS feed of the list. It has its bugs,
but I find it is a nice mix of the best of digest with the best of
individual with the best of web-only. It won't clog your inbox, you
get individual messages, and when you reply to a message you do so on
the web site.
Just go to beta.ixda.org and find the RSS icon and subscribe using
your favorite feed reader. Mine is hands down google.com/reader
(works great on iPhone too, couldn't resist).
The digest should still be working for anyone who had subscribed to
it before the launch of the beta. It still exists, but isn't being
actively promoted on the beta site because the beta site (plus RSS)
is meant to fill the role of the digest. I didn't want to muddy the
waters for new subscribers.
If your friend is having trouble with their digest delivery, have
them send an e-mail to betafeedback at ixda.org and I'll make sure
they're configured to receive it.
