Since many of us are going to be there, anyone interested in getting
together for a few drinks or something?
This would also be a great opportunity to kick up the DC local chapter which
has been dormant for a while. Any takers for that?

I'd be interested. Which night? Thursday would be fun.

Looks like there is reasonable interest to do this. Lets meet on Thursday
night (tentative). Would also be a good chance for locals not attending the
conference to hop in and hopefully reignite the local chapter too.
I attended the last meeting with 3-4 other people. Austin Govella led the
chapter until late last year...Austin? Anyone else involved with the
chapter?

Add one more 'highly interested' for Thursday night. I've also added
the IxDA-DC at yahoogroups.com to this thread...

Here are some options close to the conference:

familiar with the neighborhood. We might need to make reservations.

Vishal,
I have been to Kelly's Irish Times near there. It is a dark, dank,
Irish bar. They have Guiness on tap. What more do you need?
There is also the Capitol City Brewing Company right by Union Station.
I too am not familiar with the neighborhood.
Thanks for keeping us updated!

Not much! Maybe chips and darts.
I like this idea.

Many of my coworkers head there after their kickball league for beer pong
and flip cup.

Slightly less visual hokie
I used to frequent the Capitol City Brewing Co in Shirlington. Maxim
is right, the food is better than average bar food. They also brew
their beer locally, so that may be a bonus for people from out of
town.

Alright then Aug 16th, ~6 PM @ the Capitol City Brewing Co. (http://
www.capcitybrew.com/capitolhill.html)
Tom, we chose Aug 16th because its the final day of the conference
(there are events until late evening most other days). We'll keep you
updated on the local chapter discussions.
Are all the local people in the Yahoo group? If not, this is the link:
