Position Description
The Business Process Renovation Team (BPR) is a global initiative in
the office of the CEO at SAP, the world leader in business software.
We are sponsored directly by Hasso Plattner, co-founder of SAP and
visionary leader on design thinking in the enterprise software world.
BPR's mission is to define and implement innovations in technology and
experience for seamless support of new or improved business processes.
We specialize in fast innovation, incubation, and introduction to
market through deep dives into users' experiences, and rapid
prototyping that is grounded in real customer scenarios. BPR strives
for excellence in customer satisfaction and strategic impact on SAP's
technologies, processes and overall user experience.

BPR is looking to hire a user experience design intern (paid, flexible
start date, duration 3 – 6 months). We need a candidate who relishes
solving tough design challenges and who is passionate about creating
innovative product experiences. Our team offers the place to stretch

Intern Responsibilities
Responsibilities within projects span the areas of user research,
visual design and interaction design. Depending on individual skills
and interests, you will focus the majority of your time in at least
one of the following areas:
* Conduct end user research to explore, uncover, analyze real user
requirements, and capture them in user requirements specifications
* Promote the synthesis of end-user design research into effective and
engaging visual communication pieces including visual design of the UI
and its documentation
* Engage collaboratively with team members in prototype scenario
development, flow charting and wire framing of the user experience

Ideal Candidate Profile
The internship position will require candidates to distinguish
themselves in the following areas depending on individual expertise.
* Proven track record of out-of-the-box, innovative thinking and design
* Well developed skills in flow charting user experience, data
visualization, typography/layout (wire framing), sketching (story
boarding, scenarios, rough layouts, mock-ups), and user interaction
design (icons, interface elements) are critical
* Insightful, holistic, and thorough approach to user requirements
research, ethnography, contextual inquiry, and usability evaluations,
and the ability to translate findings into actionable design criteria
* Proven track record of success with interactive media prototyping
tools (e.g. Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, etc.) and design and
production skills for web-based projects and printed communication
pieces are required
* Passion for end user focused software applications design and
prototyping with an appreciation and empathy for the entire software
design process
* Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage
and convey ideas to cross-functional technical and non-technical teams
* Perspectives on current visual design trends, their impact on
software design and end user interaction, and their implications for
the design and development of enterprise software
* Degree in one of the following preferred: Visual Design, Graphics
Design, Interaction Design, Interface Design, Product Design, Human
Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interaction or
related programs
* 1-3 years professional work experience in visual end user focused
design and/or relevant postgraduate education is a plus
* All candidates must have current student status.
