Position: Web/Interaction Designer
Location: Vancouver, Canada

Available as a freelance web design contract or as a full-time
Front-end UI design role, this is a chance to add flagship projects to
your Web Design portfolio. Your UI design and interface development
work will be in front of the entire world by being the lead UI
designer for a very high profile online store and other internal
initiatives. This is truly a hybrid designer position and your
aesthetics must complement your front-end code. You have mastered
typography and layout using CSS and are not dependent on graphics to
carry your design. This position could be your canvas for technical
and visual creativity. You'll get to work with an established yet high
growth company with notable clients such as Nike, Garmin, and
Aeroplan. You'll have tons of work perks like frequent company outings

profit sharing.


The Web Designer will be responsible for the visual design and
interaction design for Elastic Path ecommerce projects. This will
include design and implementation of ecommerce store fronts for both
customer sites as well our reference demo store. The interaction
designer will also be responsible for internal web projects such as
the established corporate website, various viral marketing campaigns,
and blog.

* Applying user-centered design processes to create high quality
user experiences
* Producing detailed user interface specifications, wireframes, and sitemaps
* Creating visual user interface designs
* Implementing designs using HTML and CSS
* Designing user interfaces and creating UI Specifications

Required Qualifications

* Experience creating visual designs and interaction designs for web sites
* Ability to provide portfolio examples of relevant visual and
interaction design work
* Expert knowledge of the use of Photoshop, Fireworks, and/or
Illustrator for the creation of visual application design deliverables
* Proficiency with cross-browser/cross-platform issues, CSS, DOM
and web standards
* Ability to work collaboratively with other designers,
programmers, and team members
* Strong detail orientation, and an obsession for accuracy and consistency
* Clear, organized written and oral communication and presentation skills
* Excellent analytical skills
* Understanding of underlying technical concepts
