and gives it a few whacks upside the head for forgetting what made
Palms great back in the day. It was, and still is, the user
experience. Sure, great product design helps. But Palms were a
fabulous product with mediocre physical design at a time when nobody
else could make heads or tails of handhelds. Why? Good user
experience.

I don't get it-- Jeff Hawkins, a cognitive scientist, used to 'get it.' It
was because of him that I learned about physically prototyping digital
products-- he took notes in meetings on the first prototype: a marked-up
*wood block*! Hardcore! What is he thinking with Foleo??

Apple's great and all, but I'm a bit frustrated that there's just one
company (maybe two if you count RIM and its Crackberry) changing the game in
this space. Other spaces, even ...
