Contract Interaction Designer for DC Startup
A new startup focusing on the education market is looking for one or more
contractors to design a web-based enterprise application. For the
contractor, this represents a unique opportunity for creative control
unencumbered by legacy brand or systems. The software application will
facilitate college students getting involved with their instructors for the
purpose of deeper engagement and higher graduation
rates. Think "appointment system deeply customized for education". School
administrators will use system analytics to set future policy
and allocate resources.
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Discovery: Visual design exploration, requirements analysis, finalize
list of screens needed and create project plan. The system is projected to
be around 60 screens.
- Workflows: Outline click-through path for key critical functions
- Wireframes: Black and white outlines to reach consensus on critical
- Visual Design: Focus on color and typography and layout, design
select screens and secure client approval of design direction
- Production: Create html and css for the screens: 1)
Quick-loading,cross-browser compatible pages (IE 4.x and higher and
Netscape 5.x browser versions, and Firefox 1.0 and higher on Windows
XP, 2000,Vista and Mac OS X); 2) Html and CSS for lightweight, fast-loading
code that follows W3C 1.0 guidelines; 3) Contractor does NOT have to
The work will commence on November 1, 2007. Initial deliverables to help
the architects and coders plan are expected in November. All
deliverables will be complete by late January 2008. Tremendous opportunities
for new related projects exist. The contractor can be located anywhere.
Also looking for identity work and marketing web site development, but this
is not a requirement of this project.
