Hi All,
I am looking for estimation methodologies for various tasks/deliverables in different phases of UCD lifecycle. Basically a scientific way of estimating the tasks similar to function points or use case estimations in SDLC.
Any pointers would be gretly appreciated.
Regards,
Kinjal

Kinjal, one thing might be to tie your estimations to specific
deliverables. Defining a project's discovery or research phase in
terms of billable hours can be tricky. I've had better success
indicating the milestones at which the client will receive a report,
document, wireframe or prototype. Then you can build the necessary
effort costs into that line item.
You might find some ideas here: http://www.usability.gov/templates/
Good luck.

Kinjal,
I came across this recently:

I can't comment on the usefulness of the method, and I have some concerns
about the statistical modelling, but it is better than many other
guestimation methods more generally in use.
Best Regards
