This is pretty far off, but anyone planning on attending CHI 08 in
Florence, Italy? http://www.chi2008.org/

Jim Ungar (IxDA member) and I will be giving a few different talks
(one in a workshop, and one case study presentation) about using
studio approach to design to facilitate UCD in Agile software
development environments.

If anyone is planning on going, let me know and let's think about
getting together one evening. Registration will open next week, I
believe. I'm looking forward to this conference, to say the least. CHI
seems to be incorporating more "traditional" design into it's
activities, as well as more focus on industry practices as opposed to
an academic/research focus. I think this approach might appeal more to
the folks on this list.

Arrivederci.

Jeff

Man, I would LOVE to go to this. But will anyone's company pay for a trip
like this?

I would think it would be on your own dime?

Depends on the size of the company and what you'll be doing. My
company will happily send anyone to a conference if they're going to
speak or present work. But I work for a big company with a very
assertive design/technology culture. They're less willing to just
send people to conferences unless the person going is really going to
get something out of it.

HI Jeff,
I'll be going, we had a case study looking at 'spontaneous scenarios'
accepted to the design stream.

Jim's presentations sound great - I think workshops have closed ages
ago (bummer), but I'll definitely check out his presentation,
hopefully it's in the same stream?

a meet up for ixda'ers would be great.

cheers
jy
