Hello Fellow IxDGers

Rashmi Sinha (BayCHI Monthly Program Co-Chair) and Richard Anderson (of the
UXnet Executive Council) are planning the BayCHI monthly program on 10/12,
at which Don Norman and a panel of local leaders from various UX
organizations will address the topic: User Experience: Why Do So Many
Organizations Believe They Own It? It should be an interesting discussion. A
large attendance is expected, so the meeting will be at Stanford's Kresge
Auditorium. The usual BayCHI dinner will precede the meeting. For the full
details about this meeting, please go to

I'm working with Frank Ramirez as co-coordinator of our Silicon Valley IxDG.
Frank and I want to encourage all local IxD Discussion subscribers to attend
both this meeting and the dinner preceding it. This will be a wonderful
opportunity for those of us who don't yet know one another to meet one
another face to face and, for those who do, to get together. We hope to see
you there.

There will be a networking hour between the dinner and the meeting, at which
each organization will have an information table. I need volunteers to work
at the information table. Please let me know if you can help.

Hello All

BayCHI and BayDUX are co-sponsoring what promises to be a very interesting
event on October 12th:

User Experience: Why Do So Many Organizations Believe They Own It?

Richard Anderson, of the UXnet Executive Council, will discuss this, the
nature of user experience, and other user experience issues with Don Norman.
Then, Rashmi Sinha will lead a panel discussion among representatives from
ten user experience organizations, including AIfIA, AIGA-ED, BACHFES,

A special networking hour will precede the main event, during which you can
meet representatives from all of the participating user experience
organizations and find out what each offers to the local community of user
experience design professionals.

For details, including the time and place for this event, please go to:

If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area, we hope to see you there.
