The best way to start new threads in IXDA Discussion?
Hi,
It's rather strange to ask this question after having started a number of
threads already :), however I am puzzled with the fact that there is no
"Start new thread" button on the "Discussion" page at ixda.org
(http://ixda.org/discuss.php). At least I'm unable to find it. Is this on
purpose, and why?
So I start my threads through the "Nabble" gateway
(http://www.nabble.com/ixda.org---discussion-list-f6702.html), the place
where I first stumbled upon this mailing list, but I'm not very happy with
it, as it takes too long for my messages to be accepted and appear on the
ixda.org site. Is this what everybody is using, or there's a better option?
I'd like someone to please explain me this issue, or point me to a kind of
FAQs page where it's explained.
Thanks!

Your supposed to use email to start new threads.
There is a reason for this. Something about security, spam, etc. Forget
exactly what.

Hi Oleg,
The IxDA Discussion list was originally an e-mail only list and
e-mail is still the primary channel. All new threads are started via
e-mail at the address Matthew mentions.
There's an overview here:
http://www.ixda.org/about_help.php
The delay you were encountering had nothing to do with Nabble. It was
because you were a new member and your account had been in moderation
until now (which meant your messages had to be approved by one of the
administrators).

Hi Oleg,
Thanks for asking this question. I was wondering the same thing but could not start a new thread to ask :)
I personally do not subscribe the email list because I find it difficult to follow threads, so I definitely prefer the web interface. I appreciate the pointer to nabber for starting new threads.
If this functionality does get added to the web interface, I would certainly love to hear about it.

Just a note. You should still be able to send e-mail to the list even
if you aren't receiving e-mail. If not, send a message to list at
ixda.org.
